TPS Designation, EADs Extended for Honduras and Nicaragua
January 29, 2019
The Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has extended the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) designation for Honduras and Nicaragua for 18 months, from July 6, 2016 through January 5, 2018. The extension allows current TPS beneficiaries of Honduras and Nicaragua to re-register for TPS in accordance with the Federal Register notice. DHS has also automatically extended the validity of Employment Authorization Documents issued under the TPS designation of Honduras and Nicaragua for six months, through January 5, 2017.

New Rule for STEM OPT
January 29, 2019
DHS published the Improving and Expanding Training Opportunities for F-1 Nonimmigrant Students with Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Degrees and Cap-Gap Relief for All Eligible F-1 Students final rule. This rule replaces the existing 2008 STEM optional practical training (OPT) interim final rule and is effective May 10, 2016.
TPS Designation, EADs Extended for El Salvador

The Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has extended the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) designation for El Salvador for an additional 18 months, from September 10, 2016 through March 9, 2018. The extension allows current TPS beneficiaries of El Salvador to re-register for TPS in accordance with the Federal Register notice. DHS has also automatically extended the validity of Employment Authorization Documents issued under the TPS designation of El Salvador for six months, through March 9, 2017.
myE-Verify accounts accessible nationwide!

myE-Verify is the website that gives U.S. workers and job-seekers resources and tools to learn about and participate in the E-Verify process. In October 2014, the website introduced two new services, myE-Verify accounts and Self Lock, in five states and the District of Columbia; an additional 16 states were added in January 2015. myE-Verify accounts and Self Lock are now available nationwide.

The Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has extended the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) designation for Haiti for an additional 18 months, from Jan. 23, 2016 through July 22, 2017. The extension allows current TPS beneficiaries of Haiti to re-register for TPS in accordance with the Federal Register notice.
USCIS Seeks Comments on Proposed Changes to Form I-9

USCIS published a notice in the Federal Register on March 28, 2016, to inform the public of proposed changes to Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification. The public may provide comments on the proposed changes for 30 days, until April 27, 2016.
