E-Verify Outage and New Features
April 20, 2018
E-Verify, the free system that allows employers to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States, will be unavailable from April 20 at 9 p.m. until April 22 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern, while we implement system enhancements. For more information on how the outage will affect the creation of E-Verify cases see the fact sheet on our website.

Update to Form N-565, Application for Replacement Naturalization/Citizenship Document. New edition dated 05/07/15.

To apply for a replacement Declaration of Intention, Naturalization Certificate, Certificate of Citizenship, or Repatriation Certificate, or to apply for a special certificate of naturalization as a U.S. citizen to be recognized by a foreign country.
Enhance Service and Public Engagement

 In FY 2012, USCIS: Hosted 99 national engagements with more than 35,000 participants and 3,097 local engagements with more than 162,000 participants. Provided live assistance to more than 5 million callers through our USCIS Contact Center.
Strengthen National Security Safeguards and Combat Fraud

 In FY 2012, USCIS:   Produced nearly 3.8 million secure identity documents, including: More than 2 million Permanent Resident Cards; Nearly 1.3 million Employment Authorization Documents; 90,000 refugee travel documents and re-entry permits; and 335,000 transportation worker identification credentials for the Transportation Security Administration.  
Executives in Residence

The Executives in Residence initiative is the second phase of USCIS’s implementation of the Loaned Executive Program. The new initiative builds on the Entrepreneurs in Residence team’s success by again pairing private sector executives with experts from USCIS to work together during the initiative’s duration.
Substantial Support from USCIS Fraud Detection Unit Leads to Convictions in Two Separate Immigration Fraud Cases

This week, two immigration fraud perpetrators were sentenced to prison due to the considerable efforts of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Los Angeles Fraud Detection and National Security (FDNS) unit.

In FY 2012, USCIS:  Increased efforts to create a model workplace. For example, we: Improved the overall quality and timeliness of staffing services and eliminated a 200 vacancy backlog. Provided foundational immigration services training to 399 new officers, and hosted coaching-and-feedback workshops for 80 supervisors and managers.

USCIS Completes the H-1B Cap Random Selection Process for FY 2019

On April 11, USCIS used a computer-generated random selection process to select enough H-1B petitions to meet the congressionally-mandated cap and the U.S. advanced degree exemption, known as the master’s cap, for fiscal year (FY) 2019.
